Launched in 1974, the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is the CAC’s flagship program, and has been identified as a world leader in coach education. It is currently the largest adult continuing education program in Canada. The NCCP gives coaches the confidence to succeed and is designed & delivered in partnership with the government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments, and national/provincial/territorial sport organizations. Becoming a certified coach is essential for those that work with, coach, and/or supervise youth in physical activity, recreation, and sport.
NCCP Training was developed by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), a group that works with 65 different National Sport Organizations across Canada in the development of sport-specific NCCP training. Currently, there are over 850 workshops available at every level of sport - from 3-hour online introductory workshops for beginner coaches, to weekend workshops for intermediate coaches, to intensive two-year training programs for advanced coached. Discover the amazing opportunities for coach education that exist in Canada!
