The Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards nomination deadline is approaching, but what are they and why should you nominate?
You might have heard the Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards (LSCAA) are coming up in April (11th to be exact), but did you know the deadline to submit a nomination is January 31st, 2019? If you haven’t heard of them, they are like Lethbridge’s Oscars and they are kind of a big deal.
What exactly are the Achievement Awards?
These awards recognize the athletes, coaches, officials, teams, businesses and others in sport that are outstanding in their own way. The thing they all have in common is they do amazing things in our community—whether it’s athletes representing us, or the others who make things happen behind the scenes. Check out the categories and think of someone who fits the bill. Then… nominate them! It only takes a few minutes to submit a nomination online at https://lethbridgesportcouncil.ca
So, why should I nominate someone?
•Outstanding people deserve recognition. Even if they make an impact quietly, there’s nothing wrong with spending one night in the spotlight!
•The award they receive looks great on the wall. Just saying.
•They aren’t handed out to just anyone, so it really is an honour.
•Nominating someone for an Achievement Award lets them know that the community appreciates what they contribute.
I’m convinced. What are the categories?
•Athletic Performance (junior, senior, master, athlete with a disability, Special Olympics, team and partner)
•Sport Excellence (coaching, officiating, volunteering)
•Leadership (individual and organization)
•Spirit in sport (youth and adult)
