This past weekend was a golden weekend for Lethbridge athletes! Here are just a few of the highlights from this past weekend.
The Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association hosted the Logan Boulet Memorial Invitational at the ATB Centre. The Lethbridge Headwater Equipment Hurricanes came out on top, winning the gold medal game 5-1 against the Saskatoon Riverkings. MORE
From the Lethbridge Ringette Association, the U14 Lethbridge Locomotive team won the 33rd annual Esso Golden Ring Tourney for the second straight year defeating Calgary Northwest Fusion in the final game with a score of 8-2. The Esso Golden Ring tournament in Calgary is the worlds largest ringette tournament with 169 teams in 18 divisions and 326 games being played. MORE
Three Lethbridge soccer teams representing the Lethbridge Football Club also brought home gold at the Anthem United Community Cup in Okotoks this weekend. The U12 Girls Chargers Tier 2, U11 Dynamite Tier 3 and the U17 Girls all won Gold. MORE
In Speed Skating, 3 local athletes representing the Lethbridge Speed Skating Association raced at the Red Deer Central Lions Speed Skating club's inaugural Jeremy Wotherspoon Open. MIkka Eaves finished 8th in the 11/12 F category, Jonnathon McIntosh finished 9th in the 12/13 M category, and Braeden Kremenik finished 12th in the 12/13 M category
A Figure Skater from the Lethbridge Skating Club competed at the Geico US National Figure Skating Championships in Detroit this weekend. Lethbridge's Romy Malcolm is currently training in Colorado with Ice Dance partner Davis Ortonward. The pair competed in the Intermediate category and finished in 7th place. MORE
