It is the responsibility of the Lethbridge Sport Council Board of Directors to govern the Society and actively generate ideas and champion those ideas to the community at large, while it is the responsibility of the Lethbridge Sport Council staff to implement the day to day tasks to support the goals and objectives.

Susan Eymann

Susan Eymann has served as the Executive Director of the Lethbridge Sport Council since 2009, helping connect people, organizations, and ideas to strengthen sport in the community. Her background includes time as an athlete and coach developer, with extensive experience mentoring leaders, supporting volunteers, and bringing major events to Lethbridge. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband - running, cycling, and keeping up with their side-kick Boots the Goat.
How Susan supports community sport as Executive Director:

⇢ Lead the development and implementation of the strategic framework

Tanya Whipple started with the Lethbridge Sport Council in 2015 as the Program and Communication Coordinator, transitioning to the role of Communication Manager in 2019. In addition to her work, Tanya has been involved in sport as both a board member and parent. Tanya and her husband live near Pincher Creek where they run a cattle ranch.
Tanya's key responsibilities as Communication Manager:
⇢ Promote local sport programs and events through media, storytelling, and community outreach
⇢ Promote LSC programs and services that support participation and strengthen community sport
⇢ Support member organizations through communication, resources, and guidance that strengthen governance and organizational capacity

Shawn Daye-Finley

Shawn joined Lethbridge Sport Council in 2019 as the Program and Event Coordinator. He is a former national team Olympic wrestler who enjoys coaching in his spare time. He has competed at several games and world championships that give him a wealth of knowledge about what it takes to perform. Shawn is enjoying his athletic retirement by exploring all that southern Alberta has to offer in the great outdoors.
Shawn's key responsibilities as Sport Development Coordinator:
⇢ Coordinate learning and development opportunities for coaches, volunteers, and sport leaders
⇢ Support membership recruitment, services, and access to resources for sport organizations
⇢ Coordinate LSC Signature Events - SportFest and Achievement Awards
⇢ Build and maintain community engagement and partnerships that strengthen local sport

Martin Lawrence

Martin joined Lethbridge Sports Council in 2023 as the Sports Tourism Assistant. As an England Junior national badminton champion, Martin took his knowledge from the playing court to the coaching arena and is the head coach of Lethbridge Badminton Club. As a recent arrival in Lethbridge, Martin and his family are enjoying exploring their new surroundings.
Martin's key responsibilities as Sport Tourism Assistant:
⇢ Collect and manage sport event data, reporting, and community assets that support bidding and hosting
⇢ Maintain the Lethbridge Sport Event Calendar and support the promotion of upcoming sport events in our community
⇢ Support the digital presence and web content that highlight Lethbridge as a sport hosting community

Jamie Hazell

Jamie joined the Lethbridge Sport Council in May 2026 as the Sport Participation Coordinator.
She was involved in many sports growing up that developed into a passion for lifelong activity
that includes running, hiking, skiing, fishing, swimming, cycling and many more. A recent
graduate of the University of Lethbridge Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology she aims to bring
physical activity and sport opportunities to the community.
Jamie's key responsibilities as Sport Participation Coordinator:
⇢ Coordinate operations of the Sport Bank to distribute gently-used equipment for qualifying families and sport organizations
⇢ Coordinate Roving Gyms and Give It A Try to support welcoming entry points into sport
⇢ Build and maintain relationships with community partners to strengthen participation and access to sport

Abby joined the Lethbridge Sport Council in 2026 as the Community Coordinator. She has been involved in soccer and rugby for many years and enjoys trying her hand at various sports, including boxing and white-water kayaking. Abby adores being outside whenever possible and giving back to the community through coaching rugby.

Carter joined the Lethbridge Sport Council in April 2026 as Regional Director for Team Lethbridge at the 2026 Southern Alberta Summer Games. He has been involved in sports throughout his life, including volleyball in high school and competing internationally multiple times for Tae Kwon-Do. Carter just finished his second year at the University of Lethbridge, and now is enjoying his summer through work, training, and getting out for runs with his brothers.

She recently graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management majoring in Marketing and is passionate about communications, community engagement, and sport. She has an extensive athletic background, having played four years of volleyball with the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks. She has also been involved in a variety of sports throughout her life, including soccer, basketball, and hockey. Alongside competing, she enjoys spending time
outdoors or helping coach to support athlete development within the community.

Christina joined the Lethbridge Sport Council in May 2026 as Bookkeeper. She enjoys a variety of sports including badminton, pickleball and basketball and even won first place in Saskatchewan's competitive dragon boat team racing prior to moving back to Lethbridge. Christina is passionate about seeing those around her thrive in health and wellness and utilizing her skills to help others succeed.

Dave Sehn joined the Board of the Lethbridge Sport Council in 2017 and soon joined the Executive Board in the role of Treasurer and now Chair. Dave co-founded Roller Hockey Lethbridge in 2015 and currently serves as their President & Adult Director. Dave is also part of the national Board of Directors for Roller Hockey Canada where he currently serves as Vice-President Operations / Finance. Originally from the Greater Vancouver Area, Dave moved to Lethbridge in 2011 and loves meeting new people and connecting through sport.

Christopher Campbell joined the Lethbridge Sport Council board of directors in 2021. In 2012, Christopher joined the coaching staff at Lethbridge Boxing Club and spent the next 8 years working with provincial and national level athletes. He was selected as Zone 8 boxing coach for the 2016 Alberta Winter Games, and was a member of the training staff for the 2022 Saskatchewan & Alberta teams, helping prepare them for the Canada Winter Games. He currently operates Lethbridge Dopamine Boxing, focusing on providing therapeutic training options for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease along with other neurodegenerative disorders, as well as offering a free multi-sport program for Indigenous youth and a competitive boxing program with the Sik-Ooh-Kotoki Friendship society.

Chad was elected to the Lethbridge Sports Council in 2020. He is a big supporter of both his children in their chosen sports. Chad keeps busy as the Community Program Leader for Spirit North, Team Alta U16 Lacrosse Assist Coach; North American Indigenous games '23, president of the Pincher Creek Lacrosse Association and Kainai Minor Hockey Coordinator. He enjoys helping the youth in Lacrosse and hockey.

Tyson, a business lawyer at Stringam LLP, joined the board of directors in 2023. He and his family are passionate about sports, having competed at various levels in multiple sports. Tyson remains active, playing basketball, hockey, and golf. He also coaches his children's sports teams as a volunteer.

Erin Low joined the Lethbridge Sport Council Board of Directors in 2016 and was appointed Chair in 2019 She brings 15 years of Recreation Facility Management experience along with several years of volunteering with sport teams and local organizations. Erin and her husband Dan have two teenage sons, who keep her busy with hockey and football.

Dr. Gary Bowie is the founding Chair of both the Lethbridge Sport Council and the Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest. His contribution to the Lethbridge Sports Bid Committee is honoured with the Dr. Gary Bowie Sport Hosting Excellence. Dr. Bowie enjoys spending time with his grand- and great-grandchildren.

Brandt Anderson joined the Lethbridge Sport Council board of directors in 2025. A dedicated coach and volunteer, he has led baseball and football teams to success, contributed to local sport administration, and competed nationally in baseball. He is committed to making sports more accessible to youth, promoting inclusivity, and fostering lifelong connections through sport and activity.

Shannon Court joined the Lethbridge Sport Council Board of Directors in 2024. Shannon has been involved in many sports for all of her life with the major sports being Rugby, Curling and Hockey. Shannon now spends her time teaching, coaching, parenting although not necessarily in that order.

Tom Denness joined the Board of the Lethbridge Sport Council in 2026. He has a strong background in sport as a former University of Lethbridge Pronghorns men’s soccer player and captain, and now serves as an assistant coach with the program. Tom is an Elementary Physical Education teacher in Brocket who is passionate about holistic health and the ability of sport to build leadership, resilience, and lifelong skills.

Myles joined the board of directors in 2023. He has extensive experience in baseball, playing at various levels, including high school, American Legion, Prairie Baseball Academy, and Lethbridge Bulls. For over 20 years, Myles has coached at various levels and is currently the vice president for Lethbridge Little League, coaching advisor for Little League District 1, and a board member for the Prairie Baseball Academy Alumni Association.

Bill Halma was first appointed to the LSC Board in 2021 while he was Director of Horns Recreation and in 2024 following his retirement became an elected director. Bill’s passion for sport and recreation and his involvement with the Lethbridge Sport Council is a perfect fit. Bill has been with recreation at the University of Lethbridge for 35 years (both as a student and full-time employee) and founded SOFA (Southern Oldtimers Football Association) in 1991. In addition, he was actively involved as an official and executive member with soccer, football, and basketball for 25 years – at the minor, high school, and post-secondary level.

Mike was elected to the Board of the Lethbridge Sport Council in 2020. Mike has been involved in youth basketball & lacrosse in Lethbridge for nearly a decade. Mike is currently serving as President of the Lethbridge Lacrosse Association as well as coaching both Minor and Major lacrosse in the city.
Originally from Calgary, Mike moved to Lethbridge in 2003 and enjoys connecting with people through sport.

Knud joined the Lethbridge Sport Council Board of Directors in 2021. He is also a Board member of the Pronghorn Booster Club and Kodiaks Athletic Association. Knud has been involved with Lethbridge sports (mainly soccer) since the early 1980s and recently spent 10 years on the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame Board. He loves most sports and believes physical activity should be prioritized early as well as later in life by everyone possible.

As a teacher in Lethbridge School Division, she is passionate about fostering the love for active living, leadership and sport participation. Ali is a wife and mother of two daughters, staying active through CrossFit and dance, and coaching youth sports to inspire teamwork and a love for lifelong involvement in being active.

Todd Caughlin has been on the board of the LSC since 2014 representing the Lethbridge College Kodiaks. Todd is the Athletics Director for the Kodiaks and is about to start his 8th year at the helm. 2019-20 was a big year for Todd as he was honored with both the ACAC Athletic Director of the Year and the Lethbridge Sports Council Sport Administrator of the year recognitions.

Ada Larson has joined the board of the LSC as one of two representatives from the Lethbridge College Kodiaks. Ada is the Coordinator of Athletics and Recreation Services at Lethbridge College and has been on the board of the Alberta Sport Development Centre SW since 2017. Ada has participated in many different sports over the years and now spends her free time as a spectator watching either Kodiaks sports or her kids high school sports.

Spencer was appointed the Director of Athletics at the University of Lethbridge on April 1st, 2024, directly overseeing the Pronghorn varsity programs. Within that role he also provides leadership and support in Pronghorn youth community programming, ranging from grassroots development to senior levels across southern Alberta. Prior to his employment with the University, Spencer played 4 years of U SPORTS Hockey at the University of Windsor, and you’ll now find him playing and supporting recreational sport in Lethbridge.
