Where are they now? Mitch Maxwell
Mitch won the Senior Male Athlete award in 2010 at the Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards for his commitment and dedication in hockey and baseball! Mitch is still involved in hockey and is currently playing hockey in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) with the UtahGrizzlies.
Mitch has since stopped playing baseball and started to play competitive golf in the summers.
Mitch received a degree in education at the University of Lethbridge in 2018 where he played hockey for 5 years. Playing for the Pronghorns Mitch earned team MVP in 2014 and 2018 and was named team captain in his 5th year.
Mitch's favorite quote "work work work there is no satisfactory substitute" reflects the time and dedication Mitch has put in to become an elite hockey player.
Sport has helped shape Mitch in every aspect of his life. It has taught him values and work ethic that would be hard to have learned anywhere else. As well it has left him with life long friends. Along with making new life long friends through sport Mitch has also played hockey with some familiar faces from his childhood.
Mitch's favorite sport memory is playing hockey at the University of Lethbridge with his brother Russ Maxwell, cousin Brooks Maxwell and childhood friend Tyler Hansen.
