Adaptable Outdoor Recreation Society (Adaptable Outdoors)
Southern Alberta non-profit society, that offers adaptive outdoor sport programs to people living with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Inclusive and Accessible Programming
All levels of experience and ability are welcome. Adaptable Outdoors staff and volunteers provide support as needed. Registration is open to adults of all ages and children 6+.
Programs offered:
- Adaptable paddling. Fully adapted kayaks and a canoe with outriggers for additional stability and specialized seating with full lateral support.
- Adaptive hiking. An all terrain wheelchair and a TrailRider are available to make the most rugged mountain trails accessible to wheelchair users.
- Adaptive fishing from shore, kayak or canoe.
In addition to supporting mobility challenges, they create a fun, inclusive environment where neurodiverse clients feels welcome and supported.
