Lethbridge Powerchair Sports

Powerchair sports are fun, inclusive activities that allow individuals with physical disabilities to experience the excitement of both competitive and recreational team play. Our program includes powerchair hockey and powerchair soccer, each offering a unique and accessible way to get active and build community.

Powerchair hockey is played using a powerchair and a stick, which can be either handheld by the player or securely mounted to their chair. The game is fast-paced and strategic, played on a gym floor with standard hockey nets.

Powerchair soccer is played with a powerchair, a front bumper, and an oversized soccer ball. It follows rules similar to indoor soccer and emphasizes teamwork, positioning, and quick decision-making.

These programs are free of cost, and we provide all necessary equipment—including powerchairs, sticks, and bumpers—making it easy for anyone to try it out and get involved.
