July 13th (6-8pm) at the Baroness Picnic Shelter area, Indian Battle Park
Come join us for an evening of traditional Indigenous games! Led by Mary Ellen Little Mustache, participants will be led through a 2 hour session where they will experience traditional games and learn about their origins. These games are not based on brute strength or speed, so everyone is able to participate together and family members can compete against one other.
The event will consist of three traditional Indigenous games, with breaks in between for rest and socializing. Individual scores will be tallied after the completion of the games, and medals will be given out to the top 3 scores.
The games will include:
- Run and Scream
- Make the Stick Jump
- Hit the Bison
- Indian Relay
Due to the nature of these games not being based on physical prowess, there is only one category for competition! All ages and all genders will compete against each other for this family-fun event!
Rules, Regulations & Details:
All participants will meet at the Baroness Picnic Shelter in Indian Battle Park (signage will be up to help with directions).
