March Sport Event Preview
Lethbridge is home to an incredible range of sporting events, from grassroots competitions to national-level matchups. Local sport groups play a key role in showcasing our community’s passion, talent, and strong sporting spirit. Each month, we highlight some sport events you'll want to check out. Here’s what’s happening in Lethbridge this March:
PBR – March 6–7
The electrifying Professional Bull Riders Canada Elite Cup Series returns to VisitLethbridge.com Arena for its eighth consecutive season. Canada’s top riders and elite international competitors will go head-to-head with some of the best bucking bulls in the country for two nights of high-adrenaline action.
4A/5A Girls South Zone Basketball Championships – March 10–14
High school teams from across the region compete for a coveted spot at provincials. Medal games will be played at the UofL Co-op Sports and Wellness Centre, with the 4A finals tipping off Friday and the 5A championship games on Saturday.
Pro/Am Squash Tournament – March 11–15
Top amateur and professional players will take over the courts at Lethbridge Polytechnic for this annual competition. The 24-player professional draw concludes Sunday, March 15, at 1:30 pm with the championship final.
Bridge Battle 2026 (Spring) Ringette – March 13–15
The popular annual tournament will be held at the Cavendish Farms Centre. Twenty-four U10 teams will compete for the title, and admission is FREE for spectators—making it a great weekend to support emerging talent.
Moonlight Run – March 21
First held in 1988, this community favourite starts at CASA and winds through downtown streets. Participants can choose between a 10 km or a 6 km route. Last year saw 1,633 runners complete the 6 km and 590 finish the 10 km. Spectating is free, so come cheer them on!
U18C Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships – March 25–29
Hosted by the Coaldale Cobras at the Coaldale Sportplex, this provincial showdown, sanctioned by Hockey Alberta, promises a week of intense competition. Saturday features a Hockey Day Festival with food trucks, a craft market, a mini-sticks arena, a DJ, and games in the Sportplex. The gold medal game drops Sunday at 3 pm. Admission is free all tournament long.
