Where Are They Now? Knud Petersen
This update is part of a series called 'Where Are They Now' following up on past Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Award recipients
Knud won the Knud Petersen Spirit in Sport award in 2010 at the Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards for his support of sport and demonstration of a true love of sport with his involvement in multi-sport in Lethbridge.
Currently Knud is a board member of the Pronghorn Booster Club and the Kodiaks Athletic Association. Although not a board member of the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame anymore, he still is a permanent site committee member and helps put together their annual magazine. Knud has played numerous roles in sport; organizer, player, coach, referee, fundraiser, volunteer and occasionally a trouble maker if necessary!
Knud has chosen to give back to sport as he believes it is an important part of life whether its played competitively or recreationally but physical activity is paramount for a healthy lifestyle.
One of the most valuable things that Knud has learned from sport is giving your best is always important, even if you don't "win" you can still take pleasure in trying your hardest. Knud's favourite sport memory is winning gold at the 1994 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) College Nationals in Womens soccer with a hastily put together first-year Kodiaks team going undefeated all year.
