April Sport Event Preview

Lethbridge is home to an incredible range of sporting events, from grassroots competitions to national-level matchups. Local sport groups play a key role in showcasing our community’s passion, talent, and strong sporting spirit. Each month, we highlight some sport events you'll want to check out. Here’s what’s happening in Lethbridge this April:

Alberta Volleyball Premier U16 Girls #3 event - April 11 and 12
Forty-seven teams will descend on Lethbridge for a weekend of matches. Games will be taking place at the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Polytechnic gymnasiums. FREE admission for spectators.

National Amateur Disc Golf Tour Birdie Chirp Open - April 11

Lethbridge’s own Noah Higgins is the tournament director for this early-season event. Proceeds from the event will help support Noah as he represents Canada at the 2026 WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championships in Lithuania. Two rounds at the Nicholas Sheran Park and it is FREE for spectators.

Rumble in the Cage 71 - April 11

The seventy-first instalment of Canada's longest-running MMA promotion. With fifteen local athletes matched up against opponents from across Canada, the Servus Sport Centre is going to be buzzing. With MMA, Super-Boxing, and Bare-Knuckle Boxing to keep the fans entertained, it should be an action-packed night.

Lethbridge Parkrun #300 - April 18

This free-for-everyone 5K event takes place every Saturday at 9:00 am. Henderson Lake parkrun starts and finishes at the Kinsman Picnic Shelter. Walk, jog, or run; everyone is welcome! Bring the dog (must be on leash) or the younger family members in a stroller. Register to get your FREE parkrun number, and you will receive your time for the 5K.

Ice Breaker Baseball Tournaments - April 17-19 and 24-26
The 13th annual Ice Breaker events will see Bantam AA, 11U and 10U teams matching up on the first weekend and Bantam AAA, 12U and 13U on the second.
