June Sport Event Preview
Lethbridge is home to an incredible range of sporting events, from grassroots competitions to national-level matchups. Local sport groups play a key role in showcasing our community’s passion, talent, and strong sporting spirit. Each month, we highlight some sport events you'll want to check out.
Here’s your guide to the must-watch sport events in Lethbridge this June:
Charmed.ca Battle at the Bridge - June 5th - 6th. First held in 2008, this basketball tournament brings 82 teams to Lethbridge. The games take place at ten gymnasiums across Lethbridge. With 46 boys teams and 36 girls teams spread over three age categories, there promises to be a lot of basketball action over the two days.
Another exciting basketball event in June is the Calgary Surge's visit to Lethbridge on June 20th. Details of that can be found HERE
Coulee Cactus Crawl 2026 - June 6th. First held in 1995, the Coulee Cactus Crawl is a team- or solo-run through the coulees, starting and finishing at the Elks Community Recreation Area. Participants can take on the full 20-mile course or compete as part of a relay team. Spectators are welcome—come out and cheer on the runners
Alberta Horseshoe Pitching Tournament - June 6th. Two days of action at the Lethbridge Horseshoe Club that you can watch for free. With players from all over Alberta, the action at this AHPA-sanctioned event promises to be full of action and close match-ups. Free admission for spectators.
2026 Ladiesfest 8K - June 13th. This annual running event celebrates women’s health and fitness while supporting a great cause. Since its debut in 2000, participants have challenged themselves to walk, jog, or run an 8k course to raise funds for Womanspace, a vital local resource centre. Starting at the Sandman Signature Lodge, the route winds through the scenic river valley before looping back to the finish line.
ATB Financial Lethbridge Rotary Dragon Boat Festival - June 26th - 28th. The 25th annual Dragon Boat Festival takes over Henderson Lake and the surrounding park. Racing starts at 8 am on Saturday and Sunday. With up to 1,600 paddlers taking part on the water, the excitement will be electric. With food trucks, entertainers, and vendors, the event has something for everyone, and admission is free.
Alberta Provincial Roller Hockey Championships - June 26th - 28th
Back in Lethbridge for the second year in a row, the event will take place at the Labor Club and Logan Boulet Arenas. Spectator admission is free, with more than 24 teams set to compete. Action gets underway at 4:00 pm on Friday, with the Sunday finals expected to begin at 2:30 pm.
Other Events to check out:
- There are a lot of baseball matches in June. The Bulls are playing at the Spitz eleven times this month, and the American Legion teams are in action at the Spitz and the Lloyd Nolan Yard with thirteen matches scheduled
- Horse racing at the Rocky Mountain Turf Club is in full flow with nine meetings throughout June.
