Lethbridge Coach Development

Get ready to take your coaching game to the next level! The University of Lethbridge Pronghorn Athletics, the Lethbridge Sport Council, and FSQ Sport Consulting are thrilled to announce the launch of the Lethbridge Coach Development Initiative at the Pronghorn Athletics Coach Conference on April 14th and 15th, 2023.

This first-of-its-kind initiative is a game-changer for aspiring and volunteer coaches who want to advance their skills, but may lack the time, finances, or resources to do so. A one-and-a-half-day interactive coach development conference will launch the initiative and will address non-sport-specific topics to help improve the coaching experience. The initiative will continue with ongoing support, from weekly touch points and chat rooms, to quarterly masterclass webinars and annual summit invitations.

This course covers key concepts for a player-centered experience and provides practical knowledge to activate them in real-world settings. Participants will gain a clear understanding of their coach development pathway, deeper insights into sport development and participation, and the foundation for a player-centered approach.

Matt Young, Partner from FSQ Sport, states, “Colleges and universities have the capacity to deliver coach development at a local level, and we are excited to work with forward-thinking sport leaders.”

Graeme Moffat, Director of Coach Development at the University of Lethbridge, added, “This localized approach will improve the quality of sport experiences and bring alignment between community and varsity coaches. We are grateful to our partners for making this happen.”
