Lethbridge Sport Council 2020 Annual General Meeting Highlights
Thank you to everyone who attended our first hybrid annual general meeting. The in-person and virtual attendance numbers were fairly even. We would like to say thank you for the positive feedback we received.
Here are a few highlights from the 2020 AGM:
The City of Lethbridge was thanked for the $55,000 additional funding for 2019 to hire one additional staff. This funding was extended to December 31, 2020. The Program and Communications Coordinator role was split to make two positions – Communications Manager and Program & Event Coordinator.
Thank you for the guidance and support of the returning Board of Directors: Chair Erin Low, Dave Sehn, Ryan Westerson, Shaun Ward, Todd Caughlin, Neil Langevin, Don Gatto, Gary Bowie, Steve Dudas, Rob Baird, and Josh Hoetmer.
Many thanks to our outgoing directors Gordon Hunter, Sherry Hazelaar, Jimmy Tablan, and Angela Bruce.
Hosting an election during a hybrid Annual General Meeting tested our technology skills. The process was successfully managed by LSC staff, Keegan and Tanya.
We are incredibly pleased to welcome four new directors: Chantelle Erickson, Chad Chief Moon, Mike Medhurst, and Levi Clampitt. The directors were elected based on their involvement in community sport and desire to advance the Lethbridge Sport Council objectives.
Following the formal portion of the AGM, LSC Communication Manager Tanya Whipple introduced our Member Support Services product which includes organizational planning, AGM assistance, policy and procedure primer, website audit, social media lesson, step-by-step support to form a not for profit, support and guidance when bidding for events, and media relations. Tanya highlighted some exciting new features on our recently launched website including the resources page and the enhanced sport organization members’ pages which are linked to the online sport directory.
