Lethbridge Sport Council 2019 AGM and 2018 Annual Report

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2019 AGM and to Josh Hoetmer, Centre Coordinator of the Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest for his overview of their programs for developing athletes, coaches, and sport organizations.

Here are a few highlights from the 2019 AGM:

• For several months we have been working on modernizing our logo and we were pleased to formally reveal it at the AGM. We wanted to keep the original framework of a design while modernizing the font, adding movement to the individual, and include an additional colour of gold which can also be found in our achievement award logo.
• New bylaws were improved which included several general changes to improve readability, removed proxy voting, and changed the composition of our board to change two elected positions to appointed positions from the Athletics Departments of the Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge.
• We welcome two new directors, Angela Bruce and Dave Sehn to our Board of Directors.
• We are honoured to announce that the Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards has a new award, Dr. Gary Bowie Sport Event Excellence, presented to an individual, organization, or event to honour outstanding contributions towards Lethbridge’s strong reputation for quality event hosting.
